Assistant/Associate Professor of Recreation Management
Springfield College invites applications for the position of Assistant/Associate Professor of Recreation Management. This is a nine month, tenure-track faculty appointment within the School of Health, Physical Education and Recreation beginning August, 2015. Faculty rank and appointment will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The ideal candidate will have the ability to provide leadership for the Recreation Management program and teach core courses in the curriculum. Evidence of scholarship in the form of research and/or presentations at the local, regional, state, or national level is required. Preference will be given to candidates that have experience in internship relationship building and advisement, are COAPRT trained in recreation curriculum review, as well as involvement with state and regional Recreation Associations and show a strong desire to enrich and expand our curriculum. Candidates that can expand the cultural perspectives of the program are particularly welcome.
The successful candidate will have an earned doctorate from a regionally accredited institution in Park/Recreation/Tourism or related discipline with evidence of teaching effectively in a wide range of college courses. Candidates should have a commitment to work in a dynamic setting with a diverse student population.
