The University of Cincinnati Clermont College is currently accepting applications for an Instructor – Educator 12 month, non-tenure track position beginning August 15, 2014. UC Clermont College is an open admission regional campus thirty miles east of the University of Cincinnati in Batavia, Ohio, with an enrollment of approximately 3500 students. The College offers a variety of certificates, two-year technical degrees, transfer programs, and a baccalaureate degree. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, teaching surgical technology and/or allied health courses; clinical coordination/instruction; advising of students; participation in program/curriculum development, 4 office hours per week and attendance at college and department meetings as appropriate. Teaching schedule requires teaching day and/or evening during Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.

Job Description: On a full-time basis Educator Faculty Member’s primary responsibilities involve regular classroom instruction and responsibilities in the pedagogical mission of their college of unit. Educator series faculty may also contribute to the development, administration, and operation of instructional programs, to the scholarship of teaching and learning or of their academic discipline, and to the service missions of the university. Expectations may be described in their letters of appointment and their unit reappointment and promotion criteria.
Minimum Qualifications: Academic degree in an appropriate discipline and related experience.
Position Qualification: Minimum Qualifications: associate degree in Surgical Technology or Bachelor’s degree in health related area, current status as a Certified Surgical Technologist and/or Certified Surgical First Assistant, 3 years postsecondary and/or clinical teaching experience and 5 years clinical experience in surgical technology. All candidates must have the appropriate degree awarded by time of appointment.
Ideal Qualifications: Master’s degree in health related discipline. Current status as Surgical First Assistant and Surgical Technologist. Teaching in an open access mission institution. Familiar with local health care network and professionals.
