Tips for Planning a Wedding While You’re in School

Just because you are in school, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to wait to get married. It will take a lot of time and dedication in order to handle all of your school-work while you plan a wedding, but you can do it. Here’s how to plan a wedding when you are in school.
Make A Plan
If you make a plan, it will be easier for you to stay focused. Include everything that needs to be done and a deadline you have to complete it by. Don’t forget wedding details like scheduling a time to meet with the florist and photographer, your bridal shower date and when you need to put down any deposits. Try to focus on your wedding one day per week. As you get closer to the big day, you should bump it up to at least two days a week. On the other days that you aren’t planning the wedding, you need to focus on school. Don’t procrastinate when it comes time to study or complete assignments. You will just end up having to put off doing things for the wedding in order to get everything done.
Create A Budget
You probably have a lot of expenses right now. Tuition, books and supplies aren’t cheap. When you throw in the cost to have a wedding, you may be overwhelmed by everything. However, it will be less stressful if you create a budget. Determine how much you currently have to spend on your wedding and how much you can come up with between now and the big day. This will help you determine how much you can afford to spend on your wedding overall. Unfortunately, you may find that you need to cut down on some things. However, it will be worth it in order to still go to school and not put off getting married.
Choose A Country Club Wedding Venue
Even if you have a small budget, you still may be able to afford a wedding at a country club. Many of these types of venues do offer pretty reasonable wedding packages. They tend to be all-inclusive. Things like food, linens and decor may be included. This will allow you to save a lot overall. You also won’t have to worry about finding these things from several different vendors. By choosing a country club wedding venue, you may find that it allows you to have the wedding of your dreams and makes your to-do list smaller.
Prioritize What Needs To Be Done
Some things will need to take priority over others. For instance, if you have a final exam next week, you will probably need to set aside time to study and will have to put off wedding tasks. That’s okay! Once your exam is over, you can go back to planning your wedding. You need to determine what you need to focus all of your energy on right now and make it a priority. Don’t just put a little bit of effort into each thing at a time, otherwise, both your school-work and wedding planning will suffer in the end.
Set Aside A Time To Where You Can Relax
It’s important that you set aside a time to where you don’t have to deal with school or wedding planning. If you don’t, you will become overwhelmed. It doesn’t have to be a huge chunk of time. By setting aside just an hour every week, you will be able to relax and you will feel invigorated despite this being a stressful time in your life.
