Job Description:


The Science, Engineering and Architecture department is seeking applications from diverse individuals with a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, as well as student diversity, learning and success.  Candidate must be able to teach a variety of courses within the department.  Teaching is the primary responsibility which consists of teaching Introductory Chemistry, General Chemistry, and Biological Chemistry lectures and their laboratory components. Our Instructors prepare lectures and demonstrations, set up and take down chemistry laboratory equipment, prepare solutions, maintain the chemical equipment, keep inventory and monitor compliance with college environmental policies, as well as ordering equipment and chemicals.

This position requires a wide range of professional responsibilities and activities, including participation in curriculum and course development, departmental planning, attendance at department and college meetings, participation on department and Governance committees, student advising and other duties as assigned.

Instructor’s expected to participate in College and Departmental assessment initiatives.

Teaching assignments may be on the Middletown or Newburgh campus or both.

Requirements:
Education Required
:  Master’s Degree in Chemistry or closely related field.

Experience Required:  Teaching experience

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics:

  • Recent chemistry teaching experience at the college level.
  • Research/Industrial experience or Ph.D.

Salary:  This is a 10 month Faculty position with a budgeted annual salary of $51,279 per the faculty contract.
